Dragon Age Veil Guard

Bioware released some stats.

I'm playing as a warrior, human, faction is Lords of Fortune, so far I've died the most in Lucanis' underwater recruitment mission (don't know what it's called), and I luckily haven't faced a dragon just yet lol.

Would be interested to know what you guys are playing as and what difficulty etc. I'm playing on adventurer difficulty which I guess is the same as normal? Still pretty challenging at times. Also, not sure I want to romance anyone in this game which is a first for me in a Bioware game. No one suits my character :(

Neve is too boring and serious and Bellara too cute and bubbly lol. I do like Bellara a lot though but she's just not for my character.

Uh oh I found Taash hehe. :p

Also faced my first dragon.

Playing rogue on adventurerer. Only about 8 hours in, but will get a few more in today. Game has been great so far, there are a few minor annoyances in combat, but outside of that really enjoying it.

Adventurer too but a mage.

Main quest combat is mostly easy although sometimes challenging, but it's the champions that are really challenging.
The last one I faced (2nd of 4 I think) I had to hide behind a pillar while waiting for a cooldown so cute Harding could save me with a potion

25 hours in, enjoying it a lot.

Yeah I usually go for rogue-like characters in DA. Played as a rogue in my last playthrough of Inquisition and was a mage in DA2 so I thought I'd give a warrior a go this time.

Combat has been a bit confusing for me at the start but now that I've gotten the hang of using my companions' abilities I'm really enjoying it.

At first I was annoyed that I'm the main target for enemies but now I've learned to run from enemy to enemy. Get in a couple of strikes and combos with my companions and move on to the next target. That way there's a nice balance and enemies and companions will keep each other busy lol. Combat is now great.

Anyway, I love Assan lol! Though my favourite companion so far is Lucanis and his inner demon. Bellara is second. Too early to say what I think about Davrin but so far he's cool. Both Neve and Harding are meh but I don't hate them. Busy with Taash's intro mission and then I still have to find the Necromancer guy.

As I dislike action combat I went with storyteller.

I am playing a rogue duelist with a necrotic build.

I went with Neve on this playthrough for romance. Romances seems weak for me in this one.preffered morrigan, leliana, Isabella and Cassandra in previous games.

Yeah no one interests me in Veilguard as far as romance goes. Might just go for Neve as well out of curiousity just to see how romance works in this game. Although currently she's gone and pissed at me but she says she'll be back later lol.

Wish I could go after non-companion characters like Isabella or Morrigan. You could do that in Inquisition with the likes of Josephine etc so it sucks that it's not possible in Veilguard. Oh well...

The dialog in this game is something else. Did they hire a bunch of redditors?

People really can complain about everything.

I heard so much of "This politically game doesn't let you be a meanie!!".

Dude, my troublemaker Grey Warden just walked into their headquarters meeting room with his boss, threw a dead mans sword on the table, got asked "What are you doing here", told them "Saving your arse" and then punched my boss in the face.

I love this game. the internet can't change my opinion.

Very badass. Way more badass than snitching to a corrupt administrator that he's being investigated by internal affairs, letting them kill each other, then looting their bodies. Or punching an annoying reporter. Or repeatedly hanging up on the guys in charge of the galaxy (and then later sacrificing them to save humans), or or...

Ignore them. They whine about one sentence here and one word there. Many of these whiners haven't even played the game.

Meanwhile, it's (so far) my favourite game from Bioware after ME Legendary Edition.

Name some badass moments from Dragon Age Inquisition or Andromeda? You will find one or two but nothing over the top like the original ME Trilogy. Just like in Veilguard.

Why have you suddenly got a problem with it when you didn’t a decade ago?

Telling Cullen (a lyrium addict) to keep drinking lyrium. Calpernia's backstory as a slave, then finding a mage who draws his power from the blood of slaves. Sacrificing the Chargers after getting to know them. The group of mages in Hinterlands who got locked up and burnt alive by templars. Forcing Blackwell into servitude after you gain his trust. Cole's backstory where his father tried to kill him for having magic, and he ended up killing his father. Could go on, I just played this game a few months ago.

That's just Inquisition, probably the least dark Dragon Age. Dragon Age was actually way more grim and morbid than Mass Effect, which makes some guy getting punched in the face being considered "badass" even more laughable. Not getting into Andromeda, that was a massive fail.

Here's my challenge to you - find one dialogue choice in Veilguard that allows you to lie and screw someone over...

Ah ok, now I see what you mean. Found my first champion and the fight lasted maybe 10+ minutes lol. Died a few times, hardest fight so far for sure. :(

Oh no, Taash has started with her s**t lmao. She had an argument with Neve about dresses and the next thing I see is a codex entry all about different gender identities and pronouns.

Up until this point Taash has actually been a pretty cool character. :(

I do agree that this preachy crap does not belong in a game at all, but I'm not gonna change my mind about Veilguard. Game is still absolutely amazing everywhere else and still my goty.

I now have all companions. Emmerich is cool, but Manfred is now one of my all time favourite Bioware characters lol. I laugh every time he "talks"
