Drive Backup 9.0 Free Edition

http://clonezilla.org

Free. Open Source, and I don't think close to 70mb to download. It also only images the used space on your drive and not the entire partition like some others, so possible to restore on smaller drives

Clonezilla will clone the system from small to large no problem, though the reverse doesn't work too well. If you can put up with Clonezilla's rather intimidating text interface, it works well. Just be sure to read each step of the way carefully.

Off topic, but it was the only software I found that could clone a Linux Smoothwall and IPCop systems. Acronis True Image didn't work, nor did other commercial software.

Hi guys,

I need to clone my 320GB drive to my 1TB drive (both SATA drives) and in my search for 'free cloning' type software, I found this program.

Anyone ever used Drive Backup 9.0 Free Edition?

I'm downloading it now to test it (It's 70MB) but if anyone has any comments, please do post.

Okay, so I downloaded it, installed it, and it didn't do what I asked at all.

This did what I asked, took like 3 and a half hours, and required me to manually set the drive to 'active' but it worked like a charm.
