DStv cancellation, downgrade changes

I could really do with the +/- R 750 p/m saving right now. If only I could convince the Minister of Home Affairs to consider alternatives. One day.

Get a decent media player with Netflix support. Sorts out most wives :)

This has been our issue too. So far the call centre has been helpful to cancel when we call once we return from the weekend. If you have a secondary smartcard they should allow you to do this.

Okay so from what I understand now is that this only applies to the primary subscription, one can still enable and disable a secondary smart card at will and pay pro rata through the portal and call center

doesn't matter how we bitch `bout it, the average Joe will still subscribe to DSTV. what else they gonna do.

Cancel and probably only turn it on for a few months in a year. Oh and get me to get his N54L up and running...

so are you saying he doesn't know of these news yet?

Cancelled a while ago, gave my HD PVR away yesterday, was just gathering dust.

Still have a Space HD Openview decoder, though. But don't really use that either.

Between playing games on my i-pad, surfing the net, reading on my kindle, watching the odd downloaded series, dining with friends, doing house maintenance and holding a job - I realized that there is only so little time left for DSTV. So I downgraded from premium to family package and open a unit trust of R500 per month.

I burnt my fingers with this last month. I'm on the EasyView package but upgrade from time to time for a big sports game or so. Anyway, upgraded mid-month last month only to be told I can't downgrade until beginning of this month. Fortunately the damage was only a few hundred bucks, but I'm way less likely to upgrade in the future.
.

Learnt the lesson yesterday when I downgraded from premium to family. They can keep the money but I agree the chances for an upgrade, diminished drastically.

I second this, plus have Netflix and Xbox live. Been on lower Dstv package for a while and soon will cancel all-together.
