I started playing around to see if I can get VLC to pick up the stream but no joy as of yet.
Tried the same thing. Also no luck.

Drifta DSTV on iPod Touch: image
What software are you using to view the stream on the iPod? Maybe there's a version for PC such as QuickTime?
Very nice once you get it to work. Screen is a bit small if I want to watch on my TV from the couch. I have been using Windows magnifier to try and get a bigger picture but there is some frame rate loss and obvious quality loss. Any other app you guys know of that will work better?
I'm trying to find out if I have coverage, but the coverage maps are not working for me.
There is no area at all covered anywhere in SA accoridng to the maps on the DSTV site.
The coverage area checkbox is clicked and I tried zooming and clicking and swearing.
What am I missing? (more swearing?)

My tv picks up the signal directly, no drifta. Sony ex400 32inch with a normal aerial only.
But I think I don't have the exact same channels. There's mnet, csn, action, stars, etc. I discovered it about a month ago. Will scan again later, maybe there's ss1,2&3 now too.
TV says the resolution is 576i. Its clear, very watchable.
Thanks for this tip! Used the Windows magnifier to watch the BaaBaas game (what an awful, awful first half). Worked really well! Quality loss is definitely there but that's not unexpected. Didn't get the frame rate loss though but it was on a pretty well-spec'd PC so it might be a performance issue on your side?
Okay, I see. Any idea how long DVB-T testing will last?
Guys need some help. My drifta, which i absolutely love, don't want to get picked up by the laptop software. It works perfectly with my iphone, but it's like the wi-fi does not switch off when i plug it into my laptop. It's not connected to my phone anymore either.
any ideas?![]()
Three:
1. You may have faulty USB ports on your laptop. This is easy to test by plugging in any other USB device and seeing if it works.
2. The Drifta can take quite a bit of time to 'register' on your computer. The software ONLY connects to the Drifta once the it's locked onto signal. Most important thing is to ensure the Drifta picks ups signal where connected to your laptop. Check the green bars LED on the Dirfta, make sure it's glowing green and not flickering.
3. The most likely scenario (if I understand you correctly) is that the unit is defective and may need to be returned. You mention in your post that it doesn't connect to your PC and used to connect to your phone but doesn't anymore. Hope I read that correctly?
1. Port works just fine with other devices. Drifta actually charges in this USB port.
2. Done that. Actually currently use the Drifta connected to the laptop (to charge) and connected via wi-fi to iphone to watch channels.
3. I think the only defect, is for the drifta not to switch off the wi-fi connection once I plug it into USB. The wifi light just stay on. Is this suppose to switch off once you plug it into wi-fi. This is what I understand from your earlier posts. iPhone works perfectly!
Thanks. That sux though.
Where can one buy a Drifta?
Checked the DStv site, no information...
