How do I do that ?
Steps to Boot in Safe Mode:
This allows your decoder to boot with basic settings, bypassing problematic files.
- Turn off the decoder.
- Press and hold the ‘P+’ button on the decoder (not the remote).
- While holding the button, switch the decoder on.
- Release the button when the DStv logo appears.
5. Check Your Satellite Signal Strength
A weak or missing satellite signal can cause the decoder to freeze on load.
How to Check Signal Strength:
If your signal is weak, your dish may need realignment or LNB replacement. Sat Digital DStv Installers can restore your signal quickly.
- Press the ‘Menu’ button on your remote.
- Go to Settings > Satellite Settings > Signal Strength.
- Check if the signal bars are too low or missing.
6. Update or Reinstall the Decoder Software
If the issue is due to a corrupt software update, reinstalling the decoder software can help.
How to Update Your DStv Decoder Software:
This method forces the decoder to reload its firmware, which often resolves software-related issues.
- Turn off the decoder.
- Hold down the ‘Standby’ and ‘P+’ buttons together.
- While holding them, turn the decoder back on.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update the software.
