DStv is cutting three channels

Means we will never know what happens in the "Curse of Oak Island" .... Yipee that was one show that had absolutely no value .....

Well also expect more cancellations because of it. It seems to have entered the downward spiral. I'm actually surprised hoe many people are upset by it, mostly the history channel. Didn't think so many people watch these channels regularly.

In some countries Ancient Aliens is huuge. Not sure about SA though.

Think it's a load of bollocks myself, but do watch it on now and again if it happens to be on just to see what the other side is up to....

Two of my favorite channels, Will they cut the price that I pay too!!!
 
If it's about costs they should rather look at shaving some of the many sports they flight. It's one thinking cutting channels no one is watching but it looks like people enjoy these ones - I myself used to watch a bit of History channel, not so much C + I.
 
It has also come to light that since DSTV Select will be discontinued and existing customers are migrated to DSTV Family they will now also lose access to Kyknet. DSTV has now made Kyknet available on only the top 2 channels (Premium and Compact Plus).

Needless to say many Afrikaans folks fuming on Die Burger and Media24 facebook pages...

I would think they should move the Afrikaans stuff onto it's own bouquet, like they do with every other community.

This will allow them to drop the price of Premium, since those who don't watch these channels will no longer be subsidising it.

Those who want that content must pay for it themselves. Would like to see the outrage when it's based on reason...
