DStv is cutting three channels

Crime + Investigation, the only channel my mother watches. She won't be happy.

History, Crime + Investigation is the only reason I had DSTV in the past lol that and Mythbusters.

Good thing alternatives to DSTV exist in 2020.

This is probably as a result of no increases this year. Profit demands dont change, so something had to give. Expect more of this

The only thing keeping DSTV afloat is Supersport. Without it they are f****d.

I
Absolutely nonsense...... with all the repeats we have to deal with almost R1000 a month just to watch Sport and my crime channels, they want to take it away?.I see a SABC rerun on sh@t people don't want to watch. Please advise on Any alternatives, I pay R1500 a month, now for nothing
If you cant get fibre, get LTE and an Android Box. Sorted! That will probably save you 1000 bucks p/m

As always, channels I watch, but so-called prophets continue.....If only I could subscribe to channels I actually watch I would be a very happy man. If it wasn't for sport I would have thrown DSTV out the window a long time ago.

More details here:

Tbh, this makes life easier for me. My wife loves her C+I. We compromise ito mutual watching some of the history channels. As for the rest of the family, my 80 something old year mother in law just watches what we do. So a little new toy will be appropriate. Finally.Ty Multichoice! :sneaky:

/Edit: Joining the Steve movement ...

The documentary channels on DSTV have long stopped being documentary channels, and are now just more reality crap.

If you want proper documentaries again, go with CuriosityStream. $20 per year and blows anything that DSTV has out the water.

And they have an app for smart TVs, media boxes and consoles.

Had a look and it looks quite good.

Too scared to get a subscription, since I might marathon watch and not get any work done at home

Thing is in the US and UK you get H2 which showed mostly pure history documentaries. Anyway cancelled DSTV two years ago haven't missed a thing. Also strange to think in the UK you get full premium satellite service with uncapped un throttled fibre for less than you pay for DSTV.

Definitely must agree there did the trial for a week, not vast amount of content but growing daily

Offer SuperSport only streaming deals that enable users to choose packages they like based on their prefered sporting codes! Honestly, I have ONLY used Dstv Now this year to watch sports, luckily I have someone who shared their log-in credentials with me. But I would happily pay for sports only packages

Great so how much discount we getting for the one channel they not replacing Besides I can think of at least 10 local content channels which are utter rubbish that can be dropped like third period French!
