DStv Mobile Drifta Android support imminent

So they decided to support sumsung first? guess not much can be done about that...

dammit Hurry up on the HTC support...

I love how it doesn't work on "rooted" phones. Isn't the whole point of Android the ability to mod and customise.

I've already moved on to downloads, if they add in issues like this its not going to make me want to switch back to using DSTV

Totally agreed, WTF. People who like gadgets also like to play with them in any way they can!

Well support for like 3 Devices does not really deem as "an Android App" Try again DSTV and lets make a Big deal when is is available to ANDROID not brand specific android devices with certain roots options
:twisted:

still sucks cause u can’t use it on a rooted device nor a jailbroken device and after spending so much timing working on those devices
there is no ways in hell i’m goning back to standard os just to watch dstv
multichoice is pathetic! as they have no valid reason for doing this as far as i am concerned
well done dstv for losing customers !! smart move

:(

Both my HTC sensation and galaxy tab 10.1 is being snubbed!!!

the whole point of having dstv mobile is to being mobile wherever you go. does not make really sense in having your phone and the drifta connected. i cannot see myself having my hands full of devices. thats why i have a Nokia N96. it has a built-in tv player to stream your live tv.

Most of us prefer a decent phone;)

This sucks, as I have a Desire, but in their defence I think content providers are the ones kicking up a fuss about security.

Also, if it was easy to put it up on a big screen I can see many "downloaders" paying R39/month instead of R570 for the few times you want to watch the rugby or football (even though the quality is rubbish).

I just hope they continue working to sort the security issues out.

@Stevie G: it's wifi enabled with a 3 hour battery, so you don't need to have them connected or in very close proximity.

Tutorial DRIFTA on ANY Android Device

Hi everyone.

Please download the following application:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OYH1GFMN

We need to modify the phone so that it acts like a Galaxy S.
We do this by modifying build.prop.
Then get ES File Manager from the Market
Open ES File Manager and go to Menu > Settings > Root Options and enable both check boxes
With ES File Manager, make a copy of the build.prop file that’s in the /system folder, just in case

Open the build.prop file and change these two lines:
ro.product.model=’your phone’s name’ to ro.product.model=GT-I9000
ro.product.manufacturer=’whatever’ to ro.product.manufacturer=samsung
Reboot and you’re done.

Will this work on a non-rooted HTC Desire?
