It is Raath's responsibility to go buy various ADSL ISP accounts and test out his streaming service on an ADSL line with each account being used to stream the content he is responsible for providing, he is also responsible for liasing with the various ADSL ISPs to track down problems and resolve them.

I know that there was one hosted at Internet Solutions, also used to work closely with Mweb until 2011... Know some things not to be discussed online. I don't work with Akamai, but with two other CDN provides (one being larger than Akamai) with streaming services in SA. We are also bringing another big player over to SA, but all this is confidential.

missed the last 15 minutes of the rugby yesterday because it hangs, makes the buffering swirly icon and then never recovers. had tons of those interruptions during the united game earlier and only a refresh fixes it. during the rugby a refresh didn't work.

Simple solution. If you can't make Adaptive streaming work for the majority of Dstv now users just allow users to choose their own quality stream just like the web version allows.

when it's a popular event, like springboks or manchester united, then it constantly battles. if it's something with very small viewership, like tennis or arsenal games, then there are no problems.

when we first got our fiber set up, i tested supersport's streaming by having three windows open on my pc without any issues. and it's not the first time i've had issues, but the "you need a premium subscription" error message after refreshing is new for me.

I get the same issue. Bloody annoying. Works fine for a while and then suddenly decides you are not a premium subscriber. They can't code for $h1t.

Nothing changes it seems. The problems persist even though many have tried to show MC where the problems are with endless reports, trace routes, pings and tests.

I stopped trying in 2015. Now that DStv plan to make DStv now available to all packages including EasyView, I decided to have look at what has transpired in the last 2 years. Basically NOTHING has improved.
