So get a PVR. The latest one has been discounted heavily a number of times on Takealot.

My parents PVR came up with an error "faulty hard drive", after trying many things we just left it plugged in and faulty......then a month later it miraculously came back to working order. hmm my parents PVR 2p also has this faulty hard drive issue. Its been like that for a couple of months. We blamed Eskom loadshedding. Dstv said they need to replace it. and gave a marketing pitch for the Explora
