If you want a bouquet of programmes rivalling DSTV the only option is pay-per-episode or season passes on something like Apple/iTunes/Amazon - but then it'll probably add up to something similar to DSTV anyway.

The answer is to change your mindset. Netflix gets shows 6months later, in most cases. Sometimes sooner. That's not long if you ask me.

It only gets some shows, by no stretch of the imagination does it have anything vaguely resembling traditional broadcast pay-tv for current/recent content. It's 1/10th the price. I wouldnt' expect it to!

As a episode gets aired Sunday night in US, my sickbeard picks it up Monday early morning and download. And I watch Monday evening.

Will Hulu air it Monday or only Tuesday?

Hulu has pretty much everything we watch the day after it airs in the US.
If there's anything else I leach it.

Yup, some people are lucky and happen to watch the 30% of current shows that Hulu happens to cover. Personally, I'm a DSTV Xtra subscriber and just Sickbeard my stuff down, I see it as a PVR that can pull the episodes back through time DSTV gets pretty much every single popular show quite soon after it airs in the US, so the content creators are getting my money anyway.

Of course, all these services are totally rubbish for kiddie content, which I rely on DSTV for.

Thing is, I don't think people have the will power to go a month on SABC/etv (those without good internet, I mean).

I haven't had DSTV for 3 years and on occasion watch the free to air channels. People are too reliant on TV for entertainment.

I have been considering streaming due mainly to all the noise made about it on here. I'll see how that goes.

Netflix UK had Breaking Bad the day after the episodes aired in the US.

All you need is Unotelly and you can change your Netflix region.

Personal preference - some people like binge watching, some don't. Myself, I prefer spreading it out so it lasts longer. I hate the US-style midseason breaks, but that's where DSTV actually does something well - it delays the start of the season until it's at such a point they can air one every week without breaks and end at around the same time as USA.
