We first started with only one LNB cable and never had problems with it and then asked a multichoice accredited installer to add another LNB cable and he suggested using a splitter so we can use it in both rooms (we were moving our tv room to another room)
Few days afterwards the new lnb cable started losing signal and had a blocky picture plus sound loss so we thought it was the weather until I tried it on the old cable which worked 90% better with only signal loss when changing channels yet no blocky picture or sound loss and the signal quality is better overall in the settings being 90+ opposed to 70+ on the other cable.
We have a huge tree outside but why would it affect one LNB cable way more than the other when they both come from the same dish (The guy we called today said it was the tree and not the cabling even though he never checked the cabling so paid R300 for just checking the signal which he said was fine from the dish).
We used the same company today as when we installed the other cable.
I can see the tree branch affecting one thing but not like that, since we had the signal loss problem during bad weather yet everything else was fine with signal quality etc. when we had the problem few years back.
