DNS are servers that resolve domains from google.com to an IP address. Akamai uses this to steer traffic to local network caches/servers. Ok, so how can I check if Im using or not using a DNS provided by my ISP ?
 
I really dislike DSTV. You find something that looks interesting, you try stream it and then constantly get 'Oh no, no network connection' or some such rubbish.
Netflix, F1TV etc no problem.
 
Anybody know why it keeps signing the device out and requires to be authed via otp like once a week?
An 80 year old woman constantly having to reach out and struggle with this just to watch something that she pays for is pathetic man.

On what type of device/operating system is this? And are any other streaming apps being used on the same device? Do they suffer from the same issue or not?

I haven't experienced this on the AndroidTV version of the app, but there are so many different versions of it (iOS, Vidaa, LG, Samsung etc.) that some bugs are unique to a particular platform.
 
Android TV, no other apps exhibit this problem and it happens randomly.
 
Eish, that is odd. We have had a Hisense AndroidTV for, for 4 years and I haven't experienced such an issue myself. We're currently on version 6.3.1 for what it's worth (released early Dec 2024).

Other than the typical, clear app data, uninstall, reinstall the app & hope the bug disappears, I don't know what else you could try.

DStv "Sign In" button does nothing (suddenly). The stream works on my phone, but none of our laptops.

Dis you get this sorted? This randomness started for us today. I can browse the channels and it shows up to date content, but when clicking on a channel (e.g. super sport grandstand) it gives this error. I'm even able to watch catch up movies and shows, just can't seem to live stream channels.

The same here. It works on the TV in the lounge, but we only get a black screen or very slow buffering on the TV in the bedroom. The TVs are from the same Samsung series. All other apps are streaming perfectly, so it is not an internet issue
