DStv Streama set-top box launched

MultiChoice has launched a DStv Streama set-top box which allows subscribers to view DStv content and shows from other streaming services without a satellite dish.

The DStv Streama device connects to the Internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable and connects to your TV through HDMI.

So a bog standard Android TV box with this RDK system instead of Android on it....

Wonder if they will launch the streaming only subscription then...

So is it better to get this or a mibox kind of thing.

If this does not run on vanilla Android TV and rather on some locked down launcher with limitations then why waste your time with a locked down system where you will have no access to Play Store or possibly even no sideloading of apks?

What is the point of this, really? Just get a Android TV box.
Maybe those that got burnt with the Roku episode, will not fall for this kind of thing.
