I think it seriously needed a UI update, and I quite prefer the new one. Just a pity they broke the video playback, search function, "My List", etc. Etc.

Hopefully the don't take until 2024 to fix everything.

This is one of the reasons why Netflix is more popular than either DSTV or Showmax.
Netflix just works, even on rooted or non Google-certified devices.

Yeah I have to say, I have had ZERO downtime / problems with Netflix. Not once since I started using it have I had any issue playing anything. It has just worked 100% all the time. Quite impressive.

Anyone managed to get DSTV Now streaming working on Linux?
Since the new update it's impossible to stream anything on Linux in all browsers.
It just says 'Sorry, we're unable to play this video right now, something went wrong on our side."
Last year they forgot to lower the Widevine security to enable Linux playback and it was broken for several months, probably the same issue all over again.
If anyone is using Linux, please report it to [email protected] & [email protected].

Since the update, I have been getting some bad frame rate issues/stuttering in the DSTV app using my Mi Box. Anyone else getting similar issues?
I cannot stand it and switch to the Samsung TV app that usually starts spinning after a few minutes of watching.

New issue I have seen on the app.
Screen is covered in yellow blocks and a constant noise is heard. Basically it screams the app is buggy af.

trying to watch live tv = just a black screen , its been a couple of days. I saw online as well lotso people having the same issue but seems dstv has no solution. I thought maybe it was my cheap ass they trying to punish, coz i leech of family/friend logins, well those who sub now and again.

For those of you struggling with Linux/Mi Box etc, I'd suggest installing Kodi and then this DSTV plugin:

Shield pro. Should i maybe try the smart tv app rather ? all shows work but the issue is the live stream

I couldn't watch the F1 on Sunday night on my Shield in the lounge. Unfortunately for my wife the bedroom TV has a Chromecast that works fine.
