DStv streaming a mess after app update

Trying to watch live tv, taking very long to load. Some times just a black screen. For the past 2 weeks, we are busy watching a channel and all of a sudden the screen just turns black and no picture or sound. This happened round about 22H00 and 23H00. Its been a couple of days this is happening now. I try to lock in again and sometimes you are lucky to get in but no Live TV only catch up which is also on/off
 
So weird thing happened last week. Thought the app updated. It was all pretty but couldn’t watch anything. Just black. Asked wife and daughter. They didn’t update. **** that was frustrating.

Next day it was back to the previous version and working again. Think I restarted the previous night. Scary business. That’s an absolutely horrible state of affairs. Can’t believe they not even fixing it.
 
Is it possible to downgrade the app & sideload it onto android tv?
 
slightly off topic, though the showmax app is also a bit behind the times.
According to them, auto play of the next episode does not work on chromecast as it's not supported by the chromecast.....
Um..no because netflix, youtube and Amazon Prime all seem to auto play the next episode just fine when using chromecast and controlling from my Galaxy S8.
Seems they are too lazy to make it work......

Happened again last night at 22H40. Just kicked off and all you see is a black screen. After that it allow you to lock in (Very slow) but when you try to go onto the channel you want to watch, it just went black again and didn't load any thing. At 00H07 I tried again and everything was loading 100% and I could watch all channels again.

The same thing happens to me too !! always right at the last 5 minutes of the football too ! does my head in

OK cool.. So it's not only me.. Will leave it to rectify itself.. I get into the menu and when I select the channel it just does not connect.. Was gonna u install and reinstall.. But let's see if it fixes itself
 
The new app is really quite awful. Like they tried to copy Netflix and other successful platforms but took all the bad parts, retaining none of the good.

But for the sport coverage, that cancellation would be long-since happened.
 
Same here... shitshow after 10pm every night for about 2 months now...

We have an Explora Ultra in lounge... using its app works absolutely fine while miboxes are on black screen
 
Also having issues with the App on my Hisense Smart TV, just shows a black screen. I thought the TV was the problem.
