DStv streaming limit will push subscribers away

I really want DSTv to stay successful as a South African/African company. It is not right that the Americans are taking over everything. But then MC should do their bit as well. Don't behave like you are the big cheese who can push your customers around.
The only reason I am still subscribing is because I can share an account with relatives. They have a decoder, I stream. Even with this arrangement, the R450/month is not great value for money if you compare it to other streaming services.
I don't like sport R200/month-much.

DStv knows very well they have the sports fanatics by the short & curly, which is why they fight so hard to get the exclusive broadcasting rights.

They also know that we know this, so as long as viewers keep clinging on to the sports channels for dear life, the status quo will remain.

It will change when they lose some of those rights to Amazon,dazn or Disney. Then they will be scrambling.

There wasn't a easy way to get access to the Winter Olympics, other than via DStv. I could get it via iPlayer but then had fussiness with needing a VPN and shiit.

Buy a sub directly from the MotoGP and Formula 1. Absolutely worth the money.

It's amazing to be able to watch any on-board, listen to all team radios, etc. The only problem is getting enough screens to watch it simultaneously.

That is exactly what pisses me off about DStv: they buy the exclusive rights to be the local content broadcaster for sport.
 
They must decrease the premier package and bring in sports betting on the device. They have a huge advantage of being in the homes of millions of people especially higher LSM Groups. Use that.

A smart DNS is easier - set it up on your router once and forget about it. Then you could either pay NBC for their streams of have got it for free from the BBC. Or both.

MultiChoice’s excellent SuperSport offering has been the main reason most people subscribed to DStv Premium.

They've behaved that way for the better part of 20 years. Endless repeats, sports only on the expensive channel, ever-increasing prices. And let's not forget the coffee-and-muffins sessions on MyBB where all they did was complain about how Netflix was killing their non-existent streaming business.
