I have my contract with vodacom and went in to the store to get another sim for the tablet. They gave me one that is linked to my phone and I increased my data package.

I found that if the phone is on and the tablet then both will not work with data. I have to switch one off and then restart the other one to get access again.

Any ideas or suggestions for me to get this working flawlessly?

Yes. There have been threads about that. Only one device can work at a time.

Rather get another contract on your account....

Sounds like they gave you DualSIM (meant for phone + car) instead of DataSIM (meant for phone + modem/tablet).

Yup, as ginggs said.

Get a DataSIM. Dual or TwinSIM is for sharing your voice account across 2 phones of which only one can be on at a time.

You can have up to 5 DataSIMs on the same data bundle. I've got 1 in my modem and one each in all the tablets, all eating concurrently from the same bundle.
