Durban Harbour Fire

Scary thing is I put the Wimpy on Solomon Mahlangu drive (old Edwin Swales) on notice. If they need help to call, cause that's where I get my bacon sarmmie in the morning.

Might as well dip your sarmie in the SAPREF oil storage tanks, same affect

Some video of inside.

"From a whatsapp group I belong to: Bluff warehouse fire not yet contained and spreading. Neighboring industrial area up to the harbour will now be evacuated. Residents to be on standby for possible evacuation, if fire spreads to neighboring warehouse containing amonia nitrade furtilizer. Update is awaited from disaster management and if the instruction is received to evacuate residents it will be in a 3 to 4 km raduis from the warehouse, and the group will be updated. Capt. OConnell SAPS disaster management coordinator"

From a facebook post i have just read , the guy that posted it is a reporter and i trust him .
If this is true it is bloody serious and i am in the blast zone .

View this morning I don't see the massive smoke plume, but then again it is pretty overcast and the smoke could be above low level clouds. Not sure if its still burning.

The plume is still there. Let me see if I can upload a pic from my brothers house in bluff.

They should have used the foam sprayers right in the beginning from the airport.
Can't use water on wax, oil or fuel fires.
Bad firefighting tactics end in total destruction.

Gonna be interesting to find out what was in there. If it was a part load storage facility I'm sure there are a few distributors ****ting themselves at the moment.

Oh no, with the Internet now available all the stuff one reads I'm not sure if global warming is real or fake, but if it is real then this fire must make a bit of dent in the environment.
