e-tag beep

Worse, anyone who bitches that a trade union intimidates people into participating is behaving in a similar manner in this thread - intolerant of those that want to conform, for whatever reason.

Wow, you're equating derision with threats of violence?

atleast that R2 will help on day pass.

just imagine how much they are giving out R2 * 300 000 = R600 000.

Our roads atleast are not like those in NW or EC

there are potions that are pretty bad e.g. N1 south midrand. lanes cut up every so often. stone chips galore.
N1 north new road far left lane not level.
N1 thro centurion when raining is very dangerous.

what i like about Cosatu is they are organised unlike those guys who tried to protest without following protocol.

anyway, just like with eletricity increases , we will pay.

DUDE - they are supposed to be fixed ALREADY. The tolls are to pay for the WORK THAT WAS ALREADY DONE..
and it's such poor quality that it has to be REDONE. Why should we pay for poorly completed work that cost three times as much as the most expensive equivalent project in the rest of the world? Whose collection mechanism costs MORE than the actual work done?
WHY?

If you employ someone to build on to your house, and he stuffs it up, do you pay him anyway, and then pay him MORE to fix it? Or do you demand he does it right before you pay?

where will they get money when you are refusing to pay ?

They should have ****ing thought of that BEFORE they all started feeding at the gravy trough. Our taxes and fuel levy and all of that stuff are supposed to go towards road maintenance and improvement.
We have paid for these roads already. Now why should we pay again? ESPECIALLY given how poorly executed the project was, and how excessive the cost was, and how pathetic the public consultation process was?
Claw the money back from the pigs who stole it in the first place.

This government lost R20bn to corruption/maladministration last year alone. At least. That money could have paid for this entire project even in its bloated state.

I am sick to death of being bled by the government while they enrich themselves with no regard to the rest of the country.

Same here.

I have cut out all luxuries, and only have the basic necessities.

Electricity goes up. Food goes up. Fuel goes up.

Yet the guavamint workers live in totally another world, as if our problems mean nothing to them.

what must the goverment do now? They have offered masses houses unlike it the past where minority got rdp houses only.

The goverment of the past maybe was more corrupt is just infomation was withheld.

I fitted an e-tag to my car, but it isn't beeping when I drive through gantries. Is there something wrong with the e-tag or is it that the gantries aren't operational yet?

Couldn't be half-arsed to bother helping people like you

Two wrongs make a right?
I'm not living in the past. I'm worried about my family's quality of life NOW and in the future. I didn't pay tax to the government "of the past". I pay tax to THIS one. And they WASTE IT. **** THAT.

But can you see some improvements on those roads?

nothing for free. you must pay.

nothing for free. you must pay.

I have paid. Over and over. Tell the tenderpreneurs and corrupt pigs getting rich off non-performing government tenders that nothing's for free.

And yes, really, the road now is worse than it was before. It's bloody dangerous in the rain. The surface accumulates water. The runoff is a joke. It's breaking up. The yellow lines are wandering around worse than a drunk. And traffic is no better than it was before.
