EASSy on track: Neotel

Time to start working on those excuses on why prices are still high after Eassy :D:eek:
 
Neotel just need to get their connection stability and speeds rectified then I'll move over to them.

but seriously... we need to start laying some massive national infrastructure to take advantage of all this new incoming bandwidth.

Touching story... now explain why you are still unable to offer even the most basic fixed-line offering to consumers? Use it or lose it.
 
All these new cables is nice, and all that, but it's like having a six lane highway turn into a two track dirt road the moment is hit our shores. Pretty useless for the average person.
 
There can be a hundred cables connecting south africa to the rest of the world and the consumer will see no benefit. The reason: telkom. Surely if sat3 and seacom were to be run at full potential,there will be enough capacity for uncapped internet for all at a reasonable price. But as telkom (mainly) is the seller of this capacity,they are the bottleneck keeping prices inflated

I never knew that SAT3, Seacom, EASSy, etc had an impact on the cost of a cable from Cape Town to Johannesburg. Very very strange... Them underseas cables must be subcontinental!

Seriously, the biggest cost now is the cost of local lines, not international lines. Seacom has actually helped force prices down. Now if only we had a second network operator in this country to force the prices of local lines down... :rolleyes:
 
So when this EASSy cable lands Neotel, will we then get our Bandwidth metres, our customer support and our stable connections?

The most important is stable/speedy connections.

You haveto get value for money.

At the moment I'm still on telkom adsl because it's very stable, never get disconnected or any issues regarding connectivity.
 
I wonder how many cables need to land and how much bandwidth we will have before we get real broadband. I do not think neotel could give us affordable real broadband if they had there own personal undersea cable.
 
Neotel, the only company offering connection through all cables and ripping consumers off on all of them...... Well done!!!!
 
Was this not Telkom's brain child, the reason why Papi got canned?

Some reliable source @ Telkom told me that the cable will be landing at Telkom's landing stations. Wonder how true is that.
 
I don't get it.... Now THE Neotel, THE will be able to offer you "FAST" international bandwidth. It won't help if THE cannot even get 100kbs local bandwidth with their over-prostituted base stations.

Neotel fooled me once with soppy stories like these. I won't be fooled again. I wonder if they know how epic fail they are.
