Easter weekend tech specials

I have Logitech X530 speakers. They are epic. Crystal clear and powerful sound. That's not a bad price. Saw X530's at Game for R1299 about 3 months ago.

That LG screen has me tempted.... but after my last LG failing on me not sure right now...

HOw could they miss the 2TB for R999.00 at Game :D SAVE R400

That is by far the cheapest available right now :/

Just got to get word from them on stock but as reported by hereticangel (<3) (always read it as herecticangel sorry)

i spoke to 7 branches all sold out.

then i phoned again, actually decent guy responded , that stock did not arrive , but you can get a letter which will give you the hardrive for R999 when the stock comes, stock eta was yesterday .

I also got some feedback, if you in DBN, out of luck until next week but the pricing remains R999.00 so will try to get 3x once its in :).

Got to admit that 3D tv also very sexy.

WTH, take the plunge because you got 30 days to return it if you don't see what you like :p

no worries :P

was wondering why this was not on here also :P

It is always funny when something is cheap that people straight away assume that the quality is bad.

Why even bother looking for specials when the most expensive thing has the best quality. If you want good quality you should be looking for the most expensive items.

I'll be leaving SA soon for a year or more anyway, so that purchase would be completely irrational :D

I know it wasn't listed under the tech specials, but I see Game has the Samsung 32" LA32D400 for R2899 this weekend. So now I'm trying to decide whether it's worth spending the R300 more for the LA32D550 unit listed in the article. The thing is, this TV will only be hooked up to DSTV (no HD channels - just standard decoder), and won't be used for anything else. So, should I just save the R300 rather, or what? (this isn't a main TV, so it's all about getting the cheapest offering vs a decent quality TV). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

If its 720p vs 1080p - you''re really not going to notice it on 32"

I bought a 32" Samsung D5000 from DionWired for R5000. 32", Full HD (1920x1080), LED TV, 100Hz (upscaling all 50Hz sources), R500 cheaper than Makro.

Correction required in the article. The Samsung 32D550 is infact a 60hz TV and not 50hz. Mine is running @60hz.

It's 50/60Hz. Advertised in SA (as a TV) as 50Hz due to PAL. In Mmerica it would be 60Hz due to NTSC. if it was a PC monitor it'd be advertised as 60Hz because that would be independent of TV transmission standards.

It's absolutely worth R300 extra for a higher series TV which usually means superior picture quality. Also you are future proof as 1080p is versatile in case your needs change. Plus I'm not sure 4 Series LCDs have the USB HD media players.

Don't you mean 50hz in SA and 60Hz in Mmerica, I mean America? :-)

It's not 100Hz. Gratz for being sucked into Samsung's new CMR marketing gimmick. Your TV is 50Hz, only 6 Series upwards are 100Hz.

Any reason you took the UA32D5000 LCD over the LA32D550 LCD for R1,800 cheaper? :)
