Easy Equities good or bad?

With capitec I just select a recurring date to send the money each month.

But you will still need to buy the individual ETF.

The recurring payment goes an lies in the virtual wallet

Think all banks allow that. FNB certainly does.

Manual and tedious, the traditional ETF method is a monthly debit order that gets invested without your intervention. This would be the case if you go direct with Satrix's TFSA or Satrix through PSG.

Or Etfsa i suppose, but you pay for that via monthly and annual fees.

Easy equities don't ask you anything just that you spend 2 minutes to buy it yourself quickly.

I see I made a whopping R1.32 in dividends from that R50 shares they gave us to buy into Purple Group last Halloween. Gonna retire now!

care to share a little love before you go off in the sunset?
a few million cents wont hurt :D
Well SARS too 15%. The church is taking another 10%. I promised I'd help my one cousin out so that's another 20% gone. There's not much left to share if you consider I still need to go grocery shopping for the long weekend.

Is there any etf apart from dbxwd/us I can buy to get exposure to Apple and google ?

Hi All,
I have just read through the entire thread and have a few questions about EE after only discovering them tonight!

1) What are the withdrawal fees i.e. cash into my bank account? Are these charged at R100 / R150 per share and listed in their cost Profile document under Portfolio Transfers Out and Account Transfers Out or is that for transferring to another stock broker?
2) How long does this process usually take?
3) It seems that when you register for an account you are automatically given both a "normal" and a TFSA account, is this true? Is there a way to only have the standard account?]
4) I've been looking into buying ETFs / ETNs it seems that it would be cheaper to buy them on EE vs ETFsa due to the annual fees?
5) When I deposit money into EE does it go into a kind of a cash account before I log on and decide what to buy?
6) How long does it take from purchasing for the shares to reflect in your account?

Thanks in advance!

3. Don't use the TFSA

4. To my knowledge they are cheaper. Regardless - less paperwork and easier site to use, therefore EE wins.

5. Yes

6. Almost instant except if you EFT into an account with another bank, ie. your FNB account to their ABSA account.

Regarding 1 and 2, no fees for withdrawal of available funds, however funds must be cleared of last transaction ie: sold shares for R1000, funds available within 10 working days or T+5 I think they state. If you initiate the withdrawal prior to 2pm, funds reflect same night if with major banks.

Did this myself a week ago, so actual experience.

Thanks Hamster and Kosmik - I am definitely considering them as a viable option atm, just a little weary considering the odd mention of dodgies, carte blanche and dependant whistle blowers :erm:

Strange. They are very quick to respond to queries though so just pop them an email.

Why would you avoid using their TFSA facility? I'm looking to invest in one and from what I've read, they have the cheapest fees. I'm just looking to create my own portfolio as I'm not too happy with the current offerings by the big institutions.

3) Hamster might have mentioned this as I was specifically not looking at their TFSA option
