Easy Equities good or bad?

FNB have ShareZero which is 0.25% brokerage, same as EE, and no brokerage for FNB ETNs and Ashburton ETFs. The product itself is crap though, EE is much better.

Thanks, yeah no, then I would be using the platform for that too. But, for my USD needs, shares and ETFs I mainly use eToro for now. Much more effective than EE, faster payouts and handling of account funds.

Just discovered EasyEquities also limits you on sell orders, so if you want to dump 100% of something, you might have to do it 10x - and you can't place multiple share orders, you have to wait for each to complete.

Has been that way for a long time. This should not affect the majority of people on the platform. Often when this do affect you, this is the indication that you have outgrown the platform and it is time to move to a larger trading system or brokerage with your investments.

I am still awaiting for my debit order deposit on 1st December to be processed by Easy Equities. The funds are with them, but still shows as pending on their side. Is anyone else having similar issues?

Yes, I made payments to their US account on the 25th of November. Still waiting for the funds to show in my account. Have been asking them a while now, but have not heard from them as yet. But, as I mentioned earlier, EasyEquities is not a serious trading company. They are more something to play with to test the markets. Serious investors will not make use of them. So, waiting weeks on end for funds to appear in your account actually is normal with them.

They are a cheap service, but like the saying goes... you get what you pay for.

Is there anything similar to EasyEquities that allows me to buy international stocks? Sorry to say but the fact is Local stocks are as good as useless.

@simonbee and @rvZA
I had the same issue a few months ago.

Fortunately, someone here suggested direct messaging them on Twitter with the details :
It worked, and very quickly (in a few hours) got an acknowledgement (Twitter DM in return) that the details of my transferred amount etc would be worked on.

Never got a Twitter reply after that but if I recall, within about a day got an email confirming my transfer, and approx 3 or 4 days after that my funds reflected in their ZAR account.

This time of year mileage may vary, but worth you both trying this route.

If you bought in around July-November 2020 you would have seen these type of returns in 2021. As mentioned above, largely due to recovery after the big fall in March. You will not see the same returns in 2022.

My point was actually that there are opportunities in the SA market....

Morning comrades, suggest something out of the box to put my OUTbonus amount in EE portfolio. About 1.7k.

If you are cheeky and try to bring my EE down, that is not possible. I am too good at bringing it down myself.

I bought into Altron (AEL) last week. Looking healthy after a turnaround and undervalued so hoping for a good gain over the next year or two.

Nice to see EE hitting R3 per share!

Hope its a start to eye R5 or R10 mark!

I've been buying PPE shares over the years with spare cash, and I'm glad I did. Over the last few weeks, up 16k before tax, total gains at 62k on a 23k investment. They have a good product, just wish I bought a lot more when they were going nowhere @ +- 30/40c :) But you go on the info you have a the time.
