Could some guru out there please help a guy out? I'm setting up Elastix and need the outgoing trunk settings for setting up an ECN account. Tried getting hold of ECN but it seems their support only operates during office hours (not a good sign)

Thanks in advance

Ok I managed to get that sorted. However I am busy setting up a softphone to connect directly to ECN. It registers and I can phone but there is no voice being transmitted (or anything for that matter). I'm using the 3CX softphone. Any suggestions?

1- check your codec. it seems your account is setup for G729 only, and 3CX does not have G729 loaded by default, but G711 (PCMA/U)
2- ensure you've disabled your firewall for the duration of the testing. adjust accordingly afterwards.

Hey SuperSpeed,

ECN runs only on G729 as Mo said, had the same problem, I'm also running SIP trunk on my TrixBox and it works great, try to get a phone (soft or hard) that has g729 license and it will work.

Hi guys. Thanks you were right. I had to ask ECN to enable G711 for testing purposes. I found Csipsimple for my android which also works.

You will find that SIPDROID integrates better, uses less battery, and has slightly better voice quality. Only issue is that I do not think there is a G729 codec for it.
