I finally got my refund. I posted a review on Google and mentioned one of the people I was dealing with by name. The refund was processed a day later.
 
Check their reviews on Google Maps. Seems like they're continuing to scam people.
 
Worst experience ever. Never buy anything from them. I ordered an item 16 November 2021 the ETA was 19 November 2021 followed up 24 November the ETA was updated to the 1st week in December. Followed up 28 December with no response. Followed up 11 January 2022, I was informed that the shipment is in the country and they are awaiting customer clearance, no response since then. 11 April I was informed that there was issues with the batch and it was damaged so updated ETA was 22 April. 3 May I requested a refund and was asked for banking details. Followed up in between 10 May I was informed that the refunds take 10 to 14 working days and that day was the 5th working day. Following up ever since with no response. Seems like they are scamming a lot of people.

Geez they dragged it out, that's even more scummy than scamming you and going silent straight away.
 
Seems like I am their next victim. I bought an Inverter which was in stock on 12 July 2022, but I never got an update on the order and when I asked what was going on, they said they ran out of stock, and were trying to source a new unit... more time passed and then they said, sorry, cannot help you anymore, that was beginning August.
Do I want a refund or credit? To which I immediately said refund and it is now a month later and I am still waiting, after waiting their initial 10-15 days to process a refund (what company these days still take this long to do a refund?)
I am thinking of what to do next, and that would be negative reviews all over the place and then opening a case against them for theft.
 
I am highly dissatisfied with the service received by EGadgets, or Electronic Gadgets as they like to call themselves. Their ordering system is atrocious, with stock not being updated in real-time. This means that customers order items which might be out of stock or discontinued. A week later, you receive an email stating that the item is out of stock and they can offer a more expensive alternative. I declined and asked for a refund. Was this the worst decision? Perhaps, yes... Because it is now TWO MONTHS later, and after numerous whatsapps, emails and phone calls, they pushed the refund date back to a later date the whole time. Please do not waste your energy on this company... THEY ARE A SCAM
 
I fell victim to Egadgets recently. Same story that many others have spoken about. It was only after I made my purchase that I found this thread and my heart fell into my stomach. 3 months later and having to go through a lawyer I just got refunded. These people are oportunists and couldn't care less about the customers. Whoever says they are legit here are other employed or intellectually challenged. Stay the hell away from these guys. My lawyer beat them through the high court on another case and scared them into refunding me. Came at a cost but worth it. Dm me for his details if you want to do the same. I hope to God they get liquidated.

also if you paid with CC just file a goods did not receive form in and get your money back via the bank

CC or debit cards have the same protection in this regard, that is the easiest and generally foolproof method.

Good question. The order was only 8k so I went in with a lawyers letter knowing that if they didn't budge I would have to drop it. Cost me 2k to get my money but it was a risk

My story: I made a small purchase and they delivered the product with no problems. I purchased one large lithium battery, and it too was delivered with no issue. When I then, trusted them a bit and proceeded to make a large order of three batteries, there was no delivery. In every e-mail sent, they said it would be shipped next week. When I cancelled the order they said they would refund me next week, well I'm now 2 years down the line after emailing every week and getting the same response nothing has happened. I strongly encourage everyone with bad a experience to open a case with the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman (CGSO) and if that still does not work escalate it to The National Consumer Commission (NCC). This will aid in getting your money back and getting them shut down so they cant SKAM any more people.
 
I'm in CT does anyone know of a physical address where I can send legal documents, they list the address below as a physical store, does anyone from JHB know if this is their actual location, and or do they have any other offices or addresses where official mail cab be sent?

And to think that some members were defending these guys. The Ombudsman went after them and the site is shut down.
