Elden Ring

The Nvidia 511.79 driver is causing havoc with a lot of games.

This is the one nvidia released support for Elden Ring. The driver seems to cause stuttering in many games & a number of other issues.

I will wait for a hotfix or a new driver before I try the game out. Had to revert back to older drivers.

Interested in a review on MyBB by someone who is a casual gamer and not a souls-type-game pro. Not sure if I can depend on the gaming site reviews...those okes are pros and used to playing hard games.

I'm totally into the Bethesda type RPGs and interested in Elder Ring but it will depend how hard the difficulty level is set.

I'm about 2 hours in. Not a Souls "pro", but certainly someone who has played and finished a few.

You cannot compare ER to a Bethesda-like, conventional RPG, imo. The game is far more punishing, does not hold your hand nearly as much and the story is presented (as always in Souls games) in a borderline obtuse manner.

Honestly its hard to even begin to describe or recommend it to someone who hasn't spent time on the prior games.

What's the state of the PC port?
Mine runs like a dream, i've had a few stutters here and there but its never been game breaking.
Playing with a xbox remote
5600x + 1080ti and solid 60fps at 1440p everything on High

first time playing a soulsbourne game - its brutal

Not an unfair description. :D

But in all seriousness the Souls games are hard, but never feel unfair. When you die (often) you aren't left feeling that the game cheated you (artificial difficulty), but rather than your thinking or reactions lapsed.
