Elite Dangerous

How big is the download?
Also is the cheapest place to buy this at the moment from their website?

As far as I know, the website is the only place you can buy it.

I do not know exactly how big the download is since it uses a launcher and that only tells you the speed, but my game folder is 3.5GB, so I cannot imagine it will be more than that.

I want to buy the game, but between all the mixed reviews and hefty price I think I'll hold off.
BUT if a proper release version Oculus hits the market soon then all bets will be off hehe.

Isn't this available on Steam?

Nope. You have to buy it from the official website for $59.99, which is R696. No game is worth that to me, so I'm passing on Elite until a discount comes along.

Piratebay baby

Piratebay baby

Elite Dangerous hasn't been pirated, and even if it has, I prefer not to pirate video games. I have more than enough games to play as it is, so I don't particularly care if I play Elite or not. Tbh I'm looking forward to No Man's Sky and Star Citizen far more.

As someone without a joystick. Would you guys who have the game say that it is worth picking up and playing with a keyboard and mouse and get a joystick later? Or should i try get the joystick first?

I'm interested in the game just not sure if i want to instantly drop over 1K for the game+joystick.

Im playing without a joystick, you can play with keyboard and mouse, but I do suggest you rebind your controls, there are some good control schemes for keyboard on reddit

Thanks for the feedback.

I've been looking at Joysticks, and for some reason everyone either has the Logitech R400+/- one or the crazy R4000+/- one.
And those seem to be the only ones people stock. Do you know where the best place is to get joysticks from? As i cant find them anywhere.

EDIT: Never mind managed to find a Saitek Cyborg F.L.Y.5
So I guess you'll see me in the game when it arrives.

Theres a good group of people playing ED at the moment, join the rhinoza group and the SYOS teamspeak if you are interested in playing with us, anyone welcome.

I cannot seem to find this group. Anyone else still playing ED?

Also, anyone else having connection problems around 20:30 EVERY evening. Driving me up the wall

Hope Ive caught you in time, but the Fly5 is not worth the price. Rather get a Logitech 3d pro, around the same price or even cheaper and way better.

The stick and spring system on the Cyborg is super crappy... mine is collecting dust, only used about 3 times before I bought another 3d pro, to replace the Fly5, which was bought to replace a 3d pro. Now ive got enough 3d pros for spare parts if needed.

That said, I bought the X52 throttle and stick system.. best purchase ever.

Any active players here?

I have decided to get back into the game, but want to know how much Horizons has added to YOUR user experience.
