Error 31 on Huawei K3765 modem

I flashed a Huawei (Vodafone) K3765 modem so I could use it with my MTN prepaid sim card but I keep getting an error message saying 'Error 31: A device attached to the system is not functioning'. All other sim functions like sms and USSD work fine but its the data connection that's refusing. I'm not sure if I'm messing up the profile settings (profile name / APN / access number) or its my computer with the problem. I have an i3 HP running Windows 7 Enterprise. Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Why did you need to flash it to use with MTN? if it was purchased in SA that it should not have been network locked. I bouht a K3765 a year or so ago, and have used it with various network's SIMs, out of the box.

Couldn't use it with my mtn card as it would give an unknown sim error
