Effective 27.% increase. Poor to be exempted. How do I go about qualifying for being poor?

Eskom should be granted a fat slap (taai klap) across the head (kop / bonehead / empty cardboard box).

Stupid morons have no idea how to run a crucial national utility.

Linkage Milomak?

Tito is not going to be impressed. I wonder how long till he factors this into the equation? Its is more than double his recommended 6% to avoid inflationary pressures and couldnt be introduced at a worse time.

Pour some more gravy to help him get over it.

They were granted 14% earlier and this is on top of that so yeah it comes to an effective 27%.

not really. the 13% is on top of the 14?

so, if you paid R100 before, you would now pay ((R100*1.14)*1.13)
=R128.82
or 29% in total.

It's a 13% increase. The last increase was last year in December right? Why do you combine the 2? To make it sound worse than it is?

Milk! Yes, milk the already overmilked, starving cow which is the SA poor-to-middle level consumer! Milk some more! Milk until death!

Because it is the 2nd increase in one year, that is why?
Can you give us a compelling reason why we should not combine them?

We never combine price hikes for anything else, why with this? We've been getting almost monthly increases with fuel prices, but we don't combine them everytime.

Well, could have been a lot worse. Suppose we got to be grateful for small mercies these days? 67% would have been a bitter pill to swallow...
