I’m seriously considering adding a 4th Pylontech to the system and maybe more panels. But then I need to change to a bigger inverter.

I’ll check next year again if it’s worth it.

Just installed a gas stove and geyser too. So two more things not dependent on Eskom.
 
There is a max, when Solar plus batteries costs less than Eskom power plus Muni profits. We are approaching it. I will analyse this and publish it on my YouTube channel on Greenpro.
 
People will no longer be able to afford it. Electricity theft will increase. Eskom will raise the price again to counter. A never-ending loop.

I keep looking at these sort of price increases and people like @TheChamp talking about how if you privatise electricity generation you will end up paying more.

I can't imagine private energy generators demanding over 30% increases year-on-year.

How can someone look at what our government has done to electricity generation and assume the private sector will be worse? At this rate we'll end up with some of the most expensive electricity on the planet, and it will still be inconsistently supplied with massive debt and 3x the number of required employees.

No the loop will end when the repayments on financing a solar install ends up comparable to monthly Eskom tariffs. Then everybody that actually pays for electricity will jump ship.

Eventually Eskom will be left servicing nobody but the folks that steal power.
 
Because its easier to fix the issue by taxing compliant people than to stop the loss by sorting out illegal connections?
