Eskom tariff hikes will push up inflation

Just dont see how Eskom can be so stupid really. If they actually had some people that knew how too use their brain. Then we would not be sitting in the situation we are in now.

Probably the same. The problem is that which ever way they go, the country is going to get hurt. Companies can shut down because of a lack of power, or because of paying too much for power.

If only they did something 10 years ago, when they had the funds, and when it would have made a big difference today. To think that the inability of government to simply say "yes, go ahead" would hurt everybody so bad today.

The Joburg gas works was crumbling before the ANC took over. The Nat's failed to properly maintain it. It was still using machinary purchased in the 1960's from foreign suppliers who no longer supported them because they had moved to new equipment.

Same applies to much of the power stations. The ANC is also responsible because they failed to do anything about it and over 10 years later are still blaming the "previous regime", but are equally incompetent and cant solve the problem.

The ANC has learnt well from the Nat's. Play on people's fears and steal as much public money as possible. Nothing has changed really. All equally crooked, black and white.

You just summed up 99% of the worlds politicians.

The Nats were subtle smart and diplomatic in the way they went about their "business" while the ANC are blatantly and stupidly pillaging the few resources available in an attempt to make it sustain 50million as opposed to the 5 million it was originally intended for..

haha you reckon 40 years of Apartheid was an easy plan to implement and execute? Give the Nats their dues... whether you endorse their policies or not...

More the opposite, the Reserve Bank would be inclined to raise interest rates to lower inflation and keep it within the target range.
