Eskom warns intense cold front will put strain on power grid

One would think that with all the availability of Solar technology, that Eskom would have focused 80% of solutions on getting Solar to assist with their big demands challenges.
Just amazing how Eskom loves leaving people in the dark. Did they ever thought about how they could actually grow as a company if they really did consider get solar technology to assist them, guess not. Hard to see any numbers if there is just total darkness

Luckily Solar Installations are getting more and more affordable as time goes by - which allow the average Joe to have a sustainable system and therefore - assisting Eskom to be less in demand. If they can't solve their own problems - guess we as the consumer will have to jump in.

We see a big increase in businesses getting solar to be more sustainable and to avoid being halted by load shedding.

As for the cold - with the speed the protestors are setting buildings and tires on fire - think we might just not feel it that much as we think we would :')

I guess we should be glad you’re not in power? For the actions of 200 people, let’s punish the entire province of innocent citizens and leave them without power. Not like their fuking lives and livelihoods are in danger.
Who's livelihoods are in danger in Nkandla?

With all those looted appliances plugged in we're sure to have another session of load shedding.

You know what would be nice? Eskom issuing statements in PDF form so we don't have to retype the whole flipping thing from a jpeg.

You could try a service like this :

No load shedding, that's called a fault and needs to be logged to your service provider. In fact last nights performance from Eskom was over 34GW.
Yeah. No loadshedding, just entire suburbs without power for hours last night. Coincidence.

Nah the rioting didn't help, a lot of stolen cables as well sadly.
I don't think that accurately represents the issues in the suburbs that had no power in the east last night.

Your faith in eskom is endearing. Misplaced though I think it is.

Oh I've got no faith in Eskom, I'm just saying their numbers are better then it has been for awhile. The numbers they are reporting, and considering the surrounding areas didn't have power either, which is more of a City Power issue thanks to stolen cables.

East rand is not under city power.

All those extra appliances that were looted is surely going to put a greater strain on the power grid right?
nope the cold will generally increase the demand, last year this time demand hit 34GW, last night it went from 30GW to 32GW.

COVID-19, slow vaccine roll out, country burning and now imminent load shedding.
R20 to the dollar by next week?
