Esquire breaks the record - cheapest modem ever!

A bit deceiving because Esquire's price is ex VAT. R97, a long way to drive to save R2. Still great though.

Lol. I always forget the VAT. Record broken still, title correct.

I hate that feeling....when I want a new 3TB for example, I go onto a site and see the price and get happy, then i realise, the government still needs their slice.

Just to let you know that we are the only company in South Africa to get this 3G Modem dongle to work on Windows 8 , even though the overseas vendor and supplier said it won’t work as it was designed for XP, Vista and Windows 7 only , so if you bought this modem (even if it was not purchased from us ), please PM me I will send you the procedure to get it working on Windows 8 with no issues.

Compatibility mode?
Why not make them public as guests won't be able to PM you.

...that you know of :D

R145 is not cheaper than R97. He's not talking about value for money, he's talking about flat out cheapest.

Well that's just flat out stupid then is it not?

BTW: The R145 is for the 5GB data. The MiFi was absolutely free with free courier delivery too. ;)

According to Telkom's website the K3772-Z is compatible with the D-Link 2750U which is also available from Esquire (different firmware?).

Other routers which *may* be compatible include the Vkom 351W (Nology), Intellinet 3G router (Esquire), Intellinet 3G portable router (Esquire), Planet WNRT-617G (~R250 excl. Scoop).

Maybe Esquire could organise some type of bundled deals (including more generous data packages?) if they run this promotion again? It might also be worth investigating compatibility with some of the cheaper Chinese 3G routers in order to offer something comparable to the Afrihost MiFi.

BS=BS, Afrihost gave a MiFi free with 5GB data! @ R145 ;)
That deal isn't on unfortunately, please calm down everyone wanted in on that pre-launch deal. You should see the comments on fb,twitter when they heard about the extension 7000 and weren't aware.

You still have to rub it in, if Afrihost are still giving away free MiFi devices please give me the link as I do need another 1 but unfortunately this was a once-off promotion.

Since this morning 2256 units sold , we only have 744 units left, we hoping to get more but it looks very unlikely as this was a “once off” deal

It seems this was to clear out inventory from Vodacom warehouse, never to be repeated again, hopefully I will find more stock somewhere but still not sure how do u know which version modem is supplied as my box doesn't state anything whatsoever. 3G USB modem, plug and play, windows and mac compatible.
