Eugene Terre'blanche murdered

Outpouring of apathy as 49 non-neo-Nazi South Africans also murdered

VENTERSDORP. South Africa's police and media have reacted with an outpouring of apathy after 49 people who weren't Eugene Terre'blanche were also murdered on Saturday. According to the victims' families very few of them had been rabidly racist neo-Nazis, but they said they understood that their loved ones hadn't been that important.

Eugene Terre'blanche, murdered on Saturday, had been the self-proclaimed leader of the Boer nation although most Afrikaner farmers polled this morning were not aware either that had a nation or that Terre'blanche had been its leader.

Senior police officials rushed to Terre'blanche's family farm in Ventersdorp, a small farming town located between the 18th and 19th Centuries.

This morning they were at pains to explain that Terre'blanche's murder had not been political.

"It's exactly like the other 49 murders that happened today," said newly militarized police chief, Field Marshall Air Commodore Rear Admiral Bheki Cele. "And exactly like the 50 murders that happened on Sunday. And the 50 that are happening on Monday, and Tuesday, and, er, you get the picture."

Families of Saturday's 49 victims said that they weren't quite sure why Mr Terre'blanche's family had received a high-profile visit if his death had not been political, but conceded that perhaps it was because their dead loved-ones had not been famous neo-Nazi white supremacists who had once beaten a petrol attendant into a vegetative state and called for a race war in 1994.

"He was clearly quite important," admitted one grieving mother. "Much more important to South Africa than my daughter who was only in Grade 11 and only wanted to be an accountant and not the leader of an imaginary nation."

Meanwhile the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB) has vowed revenge, prompting white South Africans who do not think that Apartheid was a brilliant idea to call on it to "chill the ***** out".

"We're awkward enough about the last 350 years as it is," said one white observer. "For those of us who are only moderately racist these crackers with their tight shorts and Village People moustaches are beyond the pale."

Julius Malema, currently in Zimbabwe, said he would comment on Terre'blanche's death as soon as he had finished giving Robert Mugabe a sensual massage and Brazilian wax.

You are probably right. The style I remember under apartheid was a patronizing concern. Medical, food and family issues were addressed. Under Eugene I would imagine their would have been audible insults and he would freak-out more at stuff-ups. This was how apartheid worked. Condescending more than brutal.

They interviewed some of his other workers this morning and it was not the impression they gave. They actually said they loved him.

Remember jail has changed him alot.

These farm people wont say anything because they know they will get fired and even his brother said they will get theirs . These farm people are the ones who should be in great fear of an AWB attack because they are easy targets .

Most farmers treat their workers well.

I have no direct knowledge but ‘love’ is probably OTT. He was right-wing AWB so he would have treated them as he did under apartheid. His workers probably had an affection for him and they would have turned to him in crisis. He fed, sheltered and treated their ailments (maybe there was a farm school?). They got the cast-off debris of the family. Condescending. Unless they forgot their ‘place’.

Isede has a point. Why would the employers say anything but that they liked ET? Their employees are angry now that ET was murdered so its quite logical the workers would want to protect their jobs by saying they "loved" him.

How do you know that?

Is it not possible that has changed in jail?

Did you see how many blacks welcomed him back then he was release from jail?

BTW. Isede was banned about 10 times for trolling.
