lol. that was out of left field! still relevant though. coming back to downing. i was very surprised he was included. his form was not good at all during the season. he should count himself very lucky to have made the euros...
 
I heard the English commentators say that Jones is not ready for international football. i can't understand why Richards was not picked ahead of him.
 
Jones will step up to the plate, but Downing... Carroll...

He'd be quite at home with the duffers England have atm, but I agree, he should not be first cjoice RB or CB.

I'm not sure what Richards has done to the FA. Must be the same thing Berba did to SAF and what Maxi did to 'king' Kenny.
 
defenders first job is too defend...then comes the other stuff...i would choose kelly over johnson at club level and richrds over him at national level..

Strange I thought Evra and Ribery aren't allowed to play for France anymore? What happened to Goucuff?
 
I see he had a very indifferent season and failed to impress this past weekend, Blanc going to Euro's with no playmaker... keen to see how this plays out

Low did experiment with a 4-4-2 at times, but with 3 forwards and some quality midfielders, I'd chance that we'll continue to see the 4-2-3-1 that has served them well over the past 4 years.

It's a powerful team. 8 Champions League finalists, 4 Bundesliga Champions and 2 La Liga Champions. Hit a bump on the weekend though when their ''weakened'' team went down 5-3 to the Swiss.
