Also the way Roy plays 4-4-2, him alongside Gerrard will never work. Same way Gerrard + Lampard also never work well together.
Well there are 7/8 other options in midfield but they are all injured/retired/ruled themselves out(Carrick).

Now your just exaggerating. Its 1000000%! But downing has the ability to take on players when he is switched on. Neither of them excelled last season. Would be interesting to see what happens next week.

They would've picked Carrick if he had made himself eligible to be picked.
It's not just Henderson. That team could have been so much more dynamic. I wonder if Roy will even have the balls to start Oxlade-Chamberlain. I thought his appointment was a good one, but to be honest his team selection is pathetic. Downing? Carroll? Really?
