So I used the standard colours alot

Yellow, green, orange and red etc

I returned to work, and I notice my colour in excel is missing yellow.

So google takes me to microsoft which says turn on the color filter, which I do and I select red-green filter.

This gives me Red, Yellow, Orange and green colours in Excel only, not the exact colours in which was standard for years in office, but close enough. In Word, the colours are slightly off, i.e. yellow is lime green.

How do I get them both to be the exact same? And better back to the exact bog standard colour scheme which came standard with office for years.

Pictures speak a 1000 words.

Have you tried a full online repair?

So some user error involve. Colour scheme changed, but one monitor colour display also changed. So left screen displayed excel and right screen displayed word.

So the colours are the same, my two monitors both dell, with the same settings have started to display colours differently, I did not pick up on it, due to my colours scheme changed and when I did the above, it did not look the same when comparing between the screens.

Are you referring to your Options colours or your theme colours? Your options changes how Excel looks, might have changed with a new version.

Your Theme can be generic or what colours the company approves of.

If its your monitors check 1. The Cables, try swop it out. Those RGB cables are troublesome and some dont support the full colour range, I've had that on one cable I binned it. You can then check your dell monitor settings. Try resetting both to default if need be.

try avoid using rgb cables. Use Displayport or HDMI (or well USB-C) on monitors

But if you want colour accuracy avoid the analogue RGB cables. They are very problematic.

Sounds like the colour profile in windows is not right for the one screen, check that the affected display actually picks up as "monitor model number" and not generic PNP monitor.

If all colour profiles are fine, reset the settings on the monitor to factory defaults, if all the above still fine it may just be a low quality batch of monitor.

The complete list of colour issues... Most of it has been resolved with newer tech. But its either a setting or something else.

What is monitor discoloration?

Monitor discoloration refers to the phenomenon where the colors displayed on a computer monitor become inaccurate or distorted. It can result from various factors such as graphics card issues, outdated drivers, electromagnetic interference, or hardware problems, leading to anomalies in color representation on the screen.

Why is my monitor showing distorted colors?

Monitor discoloration can stem from various sources like graphics card issues, outdated drivers, and improper settings. Such problems can result in color shifts, faded hues, or incorrect color representation on the screen. Interference, damaged cables, and even failing graphical processing units (GPUs) could be culprits. To address this, calibrate your monitor, update drivers, and check for cable integrity.

How does screen resolution affect monitor color accuracy?

Screen resolution impacts the clarity and detail of displayed content. Lower resolutions might not accurately represent color gradients, leading to color banding or inaccuracies. Higher resolutions can exhibit colors more faithfully due to finer pixel arrangements. To maintain color accuracy, opt for resolutions that match your monitor's capabilities.

When do graphics card issues cause monitor discoloration?

Graphics card problems like overheating, driver conflicts, or hardware failures can distort monitor colors. Improper rendering can lead to color anomalies, such as strange hues or flickering. Regular driver updates, proper cooling, and troubleshooting can mitigate such issues.

Where can I adjust color settings for my computer monitor?

Adjust color settings in your computer's control panel or display settings. You can fine-tune parameters like brightness, contrast, and gamma to rectify color imbalances. Some monitors offer built-in menus for more advanced adjustments.

Yas dude. Are you a woman?

Did a factory reset on monitor 2, no change. So playing with hue & saturation, can get various greens and oranges, i.e. have a word doc open with a table highlighted in yellow, changing these settings on the monitor cause the limegreen to change between various shades of green/orange.
