Iv read the book many times and its only somewhat relevant, its aimed at socialist states and we arent one of those.

Thank You! Truth is more valuable than all the lies and abuse we must endure on a daily basis when we question these exact feelings.
So What you think or hope? Obama V Mcain?
thats a very short sighted statement. Go tell a child just to be happy at an orphanage.
Why not tell exiled freedom fighters 'just be happy where you are' - the entire SA freedom was orchestrated and implemented by expats and people in exile!
If expats regard themselves as freedom fighters, then good luck to them.
and thats one persons opinion.
Now thats a different statement than the one you made and also debatable depending what exactly you refer too. We are all humans thats for sure, some with inhumane tenancies like violent criminals, but for the sake of civility we just have to believe so, dont we?
SA is a racially obsessed country - will always be like that.
You can't just throw the bones and make it so. It has to happen through hard work by the people that govern us.People who leave South Africa for a better life should just be happy where they are.
Since when is Knott-Craig an expert on ...er.. anything ... ?? He looks about 18 and was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. As Derek Watts closed off the program with Alan Knott-Craig on Carte Blanche
http://www.propertyshowrooms.com/spain/property/news/expats-were-unhappy-home_1697.htmlBritons who have moved to overseas property have highlighted their reasons for choosing to leave the country.
Research by Alliance & Leicester found that the weather was a key motivation for 40 per cent of expatriates, while one in five people said they left because they were worried about rising crime.
Meanwhile, financial matters were also found to a concern among many, with 33 per cent citing taxes as their main reason for leaving home.
...you seemed to have missed the part where he said some expats and not all...haha, i love this.
i leave south africa over a decade ago, sit quietly and pay my taxes and slowly build my life back, yet some clueless nincompoop who doesnt even know me feels he is qualified enough to judge me as a racist. because i got on an aeroplane long before he was allowed to move from pencil to pen in grade 2.
and that, friends, is why south africa is the way it is...it's always about race, isnt it? never about competence, personal preference, freedom of choice..always a black thing or a white thing, coz that is simple enough to understand.
carry on pigeonholing the population, the NAT's did it, so why not hey...
Sure, because of historical reasons, poverty, poor upbringing etc.
thats a very short sighted statement. Go tell a child just to be happy at an orphanage.
Just 'cos expats complain, doesnt mean they are not happy where they are, their complaints show disgust where they are from.

Many of those freedom fighters were exiled meaning they were expelled from the country...you cannot compare being banished from your own country to leaving of your own free will

McCain = He makes me nervous. Just learned about this: Keating Five
Obama = Not very experienced, so that is a plus in terms of Washington politics IMHO.
Everyone has the right to speak openly. If SA stops making silly policy top priority (Pledge, scorpians, etc) and America does the same (Iraq, Tax cuts, Oil Industry, etc) than people will have less to complain about when they leave their countries.![]()
I could leave SA but I choose to stay here because I love the country and believe that if everyone stops complaining and whining like children and actually try to do something about solving the problems...things wont be so bad as some people think.
