There is many differences between each individual and between races. . The eskimos is completely different from any South African (White or Black). So is the Chinese.

These racial differences, that means the unique differences between people of different races and even between themselves is documented facts on the net. Giving you the proof you search for will hurt feelings and a outcry of racism

Thus by trying so hard to get me in your normal slug matches to enforce a ban will not work.

BTW A leopard have more than just spots.

Emigrants.

I think a lot of South Africans have an attitude of "Sure there may be some challenges, but it will probably not happen to me". I do feel that South Africa does not portray an honest image to the outside world either. People who have been hard done by in SA and leave the country never do so with a light heart. They often have real anger, and it's their right to tell the world. If no one told the world of the happenings here during apartheid, then the world may not have been involved in trying to change things.

True, surely they also relate back what they hear from loved ones and friends who stayed behind from abroad too.

People do deserve to be treated equally and fairly to a point. That point is where they transgress the law.

But the sad reality is that people are not equal and they are not treated equally.

I am not sure who gets credit for this: "God created man, Samuel Colt made him equal".

ok this might be the wrong thread to post this in but im getting mightily pissed off by this whole sob story "oh 14 years isnt long enough " "14 years is hardly long enough for democracy to set in" blah blah blah get over it alright already. 14 years is plenty damn long enough ok

as was pointed out by someone else (i forget who) look at the rest of the world.

1) germany - WW2 - they had the crap bombed out of em by the allies. they ended the war with nothing. no infrastructure or anything. 14 years later they had almost totally rebuilt the country because they had competent UNCORRUPT leaders

2) japan - WW2 - they had 2 nuclear bombs dropped on them for crying out loud. they managed to sort their **** out in 14 years.

3) south africa - 1994 - anc takes over a country with no major infrastructure issues and proceeds to rape the country to line their own pockets.

piss off with your 14 years isnt long enough ok.

Those are true patriots who are at pain for the demise of their country . They are just telling the truth and I think that they are doing a great service to the county.
 
My opinion (for what it is worth... ;) ).

I am American (by birth) and have lived here in SA for 2.5 years now. In this time I have talked so much smack about the USA and it's politics, policies and leaders that I have bored myself...and no longer bother with the subject because I bore myself with it let alone the South Africans who ask I am sure.

So I am in a similar position as these SA expats in a way. I live outside my country and have criticized it from outside the country when people ask me about Bush, Iraq, Enron, Rumsfeld, Exxon, Microsoft, etc., etc., etc.... So should Americans complain about me? Yes, why not? Let them. Especially Republicans of the past 6 years!

This being said, I think I have tried to be honest and critical of my assessments of situations in America. Is this wrong? Maybe, I might have stepped over the line, hell I even moved countries!!! But in the end it doesn't really make a difference. Because people think of America as what their perceptions of America is. And people think of South Africa as what their perceptions of South Africa are (Crime, AIDS, Corruption, Safaris, Poverty, Surfing, Sharks, Mandela, Tutu, Racism, Gold, De Beers, Kruger Nat'l Park, AFRICA...).

So I am getting on an airplane in a few weeks and returning to my fascist country and when I get there people will ask me how it was when I lived in "AFRICA". Guess what, I will be honest with them. It is an unspeakably beautiful land, with diversity of people and some of the greatest resources in the world. At the same time it is corrupt. Africans need to learn to properly govern so that everyones lives get better. The ANC is becoming a complete one party state governing body, dispensing of opposition in order to secure its long term position in National leadership.

Essentially, I will tell people South Africa is amazing, but failing on Mandela's dream. It is not a place for long-term investment in my life, albeit many Europeans are buying up golf estate properties to retire in. ;)
 
This idiot must be a candidate for mampara of the year.

I believe they do this because they have this overwhelming need to keep convincing themselves, their friends, their families and anyone who is prepared to listen, that they made the right decision about leaving South Africa.

Over here when criminals actually get caught and actually imprisoned, they can just pay a bribe and get out again.
If that happened in the USA, Prison Break wouldn't be in a 3rd season.

Very true.
The ANC and their supporters seem to culture a victim mentality. By constantly mentioning past injustices (see the pledge thread) and dragging out the TRC etc, they remind everyone of their position in the struggle and thus their support is maintained by the sheeplike populous.

They've also become so used to being told how to do things that I don't think they're coping. Corruption and depection is the easier option and now instead of putting out open hands to get a donation, they can just reach into the public coffers.

The government are also quite reluctant to admit they don't have the knowledge to achieve successes and are far to arrogant to ask for help. They seem to want to make mistakes in the learning process. The sad thing is we are all going to suffer until progress is made.
