Expect competitive data pricing from 8ta this month

Would be great if they did - but let us wait and see!

Cell C does not work everywhere, and the VC shark seems to live on OOB arms and legs.

A little unfair that they can offer a R150 or better package but people on ADSL still have to pay R300 for snail speed and no data.

Amazing what (3G) competition does.

Why does nobody release a 10 gig product for say R500 and any data between midnight and 7 am uses 1/5 normal rate. Then we have a real contender for adsl.

Eating gingerbread off my Galaxy S, baked by Darky.

I wouldn't trust any venture even remotely related to telkom...

they should've spent the 8ta money on providing decent fixed line comms instead.

I like Cell c but their network is not reliable I still keep my Mtn sim as back up, I f 8ta offer is competitive I'll definitely try it out.

It's funny how this dude says he wonders if 2gig is enough yet Telkom say 9gigs is fine for ADSL.

Didnt they just complain last week that these data prices are not sustainable. So whose lying here?

The next few months should be quite interesting. Neotel has said they will bring out Wimax retail / IBurst said they will release something new this month / Now 8ta says expect fireworks.

Things keep going like this we may eventually get proper competition to ADSL.

Neotel will be launching new data products next month. Interesting times. :)

Well done 8ta...had Cell C and battled big time. switched to 8ta for ipad and getting average download speed of 2.5mbps with low latency

Blows MTN, VC and Cell C to bits

Suggestion - get a prepaid 8.ta sim, load it up with some airtime and experiment. I keep 8.ta as backup in case cellC doesn't.

Plus 8.ta prepaid airtime keeps a whole 6 months (IIRC) whereas voda/mtn dumps it after a month or so.
