I have wireless network at home. It works fine but I would like to setup a security camera at my gate. The problem is that the gate is about 300 meters from my home. Anybody any suggestions how I can extend the rage of my network? I use a Linksys WRT54GL Router.

You could try putting on a bigger aerial, but 300m is quite far. Perhaps upping the power on the radio would do it (new firmware).

I have those linksys routers talking almost 1Km to each other line of site to one another...
Either get another router or look at wireless ip cameras?

Any which way you look at it you have to have power for (at least) a camera at the gate: have you got readily available/accessible 220Vac at the gate? Also, have you got a mounting position?

@BBSA, no special antennas. Standard ones on the Linksys 54gls...3 or 5 dBi I think. maybe not 1Km but certainly 500 or 700m even with the odd obstruction.
