External Antenna for Huawei E272 modem?

Does anyone have any data on where one can get an external antenna connector or attachment for the Huawei E272 modem?

Are Poynting selling these? Can they be used with their external 3G antennas?

The E272 has a cradle with a standard SMA connector on it. so the Poynting antennas will plug straight in.

However, I don't know if the cradles are available yet. Maybe ask your friendly, local Vodashop.

I'll also see what I can find out.

There is a small port in the bottom of the unit. There's a picture somewhere here on the forums.

It's simple IMO - Vodafone would be purchasing large volumes of these from Huawei [the manufacturer of the cradles and associated E272 modems], which means that Vodafone would be able to supply these somewhat cheaper than Poynting would be able to, obviously Vodafone would then supply Vodacom|VSP with some of these cradles - much the same way that the E272 modems etc end up in SA.

They were very difficult to get initially but Poynting and others eventually managed to source the connectors for the cards and could make up the pig-tails.

The E272 cradle uses a standard SMA connector, so no pig-tails are needed, the Poynting antennas will plug straight in.
