Such a bad track this...
Many fixes from last year to improve visibility and also walls have been moved to make errors more forgiving but yeah, this track is potentially a career ending one! Brutal!!

Ferrari have produced a super competitive car at the start of this season. Charles and Carlos need to make the best of the advantage. Unlikely to be as dominant come in 5 to 6 races time. Not sure kissing the wall is what Ferrari engineers had in mind... Livery on that car is stunning too, just saying!! Really great to see a change of protagonists early season... different challenge for Red Bull early doors.

There's simply no ways this season is likely to reach the heights of the 2021 season but really hope we have more than a 2 horse race (pun intended) contest this season.

Good to see that Mick Schumacher is much more humble and calm than his Dad was in his younger days. I loved Shumacher Snr as a kid but he was willing to do anything in the name of a win.

Probably for Ferrari, will come at tracks with long straights, and very little corners. Even with more straight line speed, they still behind Red Bull on that.

Mercedes set-up trials in Jeddah F1 practice didn't solve porpoising: https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/m...h-f1-practice-didnt-solve-porpoising/9336743/

"... Mercedes is adamant that once it has a better understanding of what it needs to do to sort the porpoising issue, then it will be able to unlock the full potential of its W13 car.

But despite extensive work in the two practice sessions at the Jeddah circuit on Friday, Mercedes still does not think it has found an answer to eradicate the phenomenon completely.

Mercedes trackside engineering director Andrew Shovlin said: “We tried a few more experiments to understand the bouncing issue here, some which made it worse, some which helped, but we don't yet have a solution to make the problem go away.

“We can reduce this slightly for [Saturday] as it's affecting the drivers in a few of the corners and costing time.”

While Mercedes was still behind Ferrari and Red Bull in pace terms on Friday, Shovlin said the team felt more on top of its package that it did last weekend.

“Compared to Bahrain, the car balance is in a better place and in terms of degradation we're quite happy with what we have seen,” he said.

“Our single lap still needs a bit of work but we've got the session tomorrow to do that. Overall though, a reasonable day but clearly we still have a bit of work to do before we'll be troubling Red Bull or Ferrari.” ..."

I made a boo boo earlier (sorry, busy day at work)

FP1 is now streaming on my discord server for those interested.
When is qualifying up?

They had major trouble getting the stricken cars off the track in F2...long safety car periods

Yeah, saw that. Also read that the Marshalls took a few minutes to get to Bolukbasi’s car after his crash in qualifying yesterday. He was ruled out for the rest of the weekend with concussion. Also showed how 1 SC can lead to another. Same happened in the F1 race last season
