Red Bull play open cards and even Christian Horner has let slip that the team can only work with 1 Alpha driver and the other needs to play a supporting role. That was what happened when Daniel Ric left. Max developed into the Alpha and Daniel could see how that was turning the team vibe.
But it makes sense to me as a winning formula. Yes it sucks, but considering how many years RB has been plugging away behind Mercedes since the Vettel good 'ol days, can you blame them for rather choosing their Alpha and throwing the whole team and second driver behind him? I don't....
IMO, yesterday's race was Perez's to lose. He started from second person on the grid, in a much better car than the rest. He recovered well from a poor start, but he is simply not good enough to beat his team mate...
