Which team will take constructors in 2023?

Good race that. Thoroughly enjoyed watching them fight all the way to the end. That Sainz-Norris teamwork was quite something. Russell had a really good race right until the end there. haven't sworn that much in a while. Pleb.

Lawson is really making a case for a seat next year. Not sure who gets the boot, but he needs a seat.
 
statistically the clostst Driver pairing is Alpine at least before this race.

look at the percentage of points scored by each driver of the total team points.
the largest gap is Williams second,Aston Martin third is RedBull.

I havent looked at that after this weekend.
it was Alpine with like a 50.49% for gastly vs a 49.11% for Ocon.
then it was Ferrari with a 55% for Sainz or there abouts.
third was Merc still with less than 60% for Lewis.

Statistically Sainz is not a #2 driver
the question is if Ferrari see him as a future #2 if they can challange for a title. is Charles the golden Boy like Max is at RB that gets what ever he wants?

Read your comment. You trashed his race win because he was slow and holding everyone up.

He was, throughout the weekend, consistently the best driver around Singapore. The way he used Lando as a buffer in the closing laps was a masterclass, giving him just enough to gain DRS but not enough to get a run.

Ferrari's race strategy was the best I've seen in years - Hannah Schmitz level strategy.
Both Merc and McLaren was quicker in race trim and are known to be easier on tyres.

Clucky starting on softs to jump Russel and then to maintain position and preserve tyres throughout. Ferrari knew they where slower, but not 2 seconds slower for a pass.
If Clucky didn't try so hard in backing up the pack when they stacked he would have been back in 2nd / close 3rd behind the safety car depending on pit traffic.

Carlos executed the team strategy with precision and had the presence of mind to back Norris up into the Merc's and drag Norris along with DRS when and where it mattered.
Clucky burned through his tyres and was 0.264 seconds away from being overtaken by Max at the end.

Sir Hamilton's 1st turn shenanigans was also choreographed and planned between him and Russel to jump the McLaren.

That's interesting, can you give us a link to your supporting documentation?
It must have been a fun conversation for the Pit Wall to have with both drivers on an open Radio link ........
But I guess nobody else was listening but you.

race of the season so far in terms of strategy and some nice ending highlights from russell

I was being sarcastic, not insolunt, but there are enough flame wars around here and, In hindsight, I realise that I was behaving in exactly the manner that I most dislike about this forum.

Also can't help thinking Yuki's outburst at Verstappen for impeding would not have gone down well with the RB Godfather.

So I always wonder if the Williams car is not maybe faster than we think and they just need better drivers.
Albon seems to get a lot of praise in the light that people think the Williams is one of the slowest cars.
But how good is Albon? He failed at Red Bull. He also looked good against Latifi, that means nothing.
De Vries came in for one race at Williams and scored points. He then got a seat at another team and we all know how that turned out.
So is the Williams maybe not that slow, do they need a great driver?

Albon is above average as a driver. Williams is still bottom 4 or below average in terms of car.
