The article made it fairly clear, through innuendoes, who it was talking about and as for my reply you really do need to ease up if you couldn't see the intended humor.

Believe me if I wanted to stir the **** I would not be so subtle so relax.
Agree. Horner was the likely culprit lol.

And here is another for Flash to get worked up about:
The fact that you introduced an expletive in your previous post clearly demonstrates which one of us has chest pains.

For the sake of not sending this 2024 thread down the same hole as the previous one, this will be the last I will post on your matter.

Sunday without F1 hurts

The Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix will move from Barcelona to Madrid: https://www.elmundo.es/madrid/2023/12/05/655f1b37e85ecec7268b45ce.html

"Madrid will have a Formula 1 race starting in 2026 . Imminently, it will be confirmed that the capital will see the cars roll again four decades after the last appointment, in 1981, on the old Jarama circuit . Now it will be around Ifema and Valdebebas where the most important motor competition on the planet will display its show, in a semi-urban test within the limits of the capital itself.

The announcement was ready to be made last Thursday, but some technical issues have delayed it for a few days. The official statement is expected to come out from London, from the F1 headquarters (owned by the multinational Liberty ), in the next few hours. Or next week at the latest. Everything is ready.... "

"It will soon be announced that Madrid has won the deal to host the Spanish Grand Prix from 2026 onwards. The race will take place on a semi-permanent track around the IFEMA convention centre, close to Barajas Airport. The deal will be for 10 years."

"The Madrid promoters continue working on holding an F1 GP starting in 2026 while Barcelona continues negotiating the renewal of the contract that ends in 2026. A scenario of 2 races in Spain would not be ruled out yet."

Nearly 24 hours ago, Supersport reported that Charles Leclerc had 'reportedly' signed a contract extension with Ferrari which will see him through to the end of 2029. Nothing though on formula1.com so not sure if F1.com is just slow or Supersport jumped the gun in reporting something that hasn't been confirmed (it was them after all that prematurely ran the article a few months ago that Heath Streak had passed away). Will wait and see what materialises.

EDIT: I see planetf1.com ran a similar article on the 3rd of December but again, the word 'reportedly' is injected. I guess formula1.com is waiting until it is officially announced and not jumping to speculation.

The source is a Italian newspaper and is said to be very, very reliable. Lots of details to the contract. Huge payday.

It has also risen to speculation about Sainz. Why did he not sign, does this mean he is going, does it mean they don't rate him, will he be replaced in 2026 by X, Y or Z.

I certainly hope they have 2 races else we are replacing one of the Best Racing Circuits with another Street dreary Race. FoM are seriously trying to destroy F1 and all it stands for.....
But they they don't care about F1 long term just the short term Profit.
Once figures start falling they will sell the rights for F1 and move on.

FIA open Toto and Susie Wolff investigation over alleged conflict of interest: https://racingnews365.com/fia-open-wolff-investigation-over-alleged-conflict-of-interest

"... The FIA Compliance Department has opened an investigation on Toto Wolff and his wife Susie amid an alleged conflict of interest.

Wolff is currently the Team Principal and CEO of the Mercedes squad while Susie is the managing director of the all-female F1 Academy series.

It is believed that the FIA is acting on complaints from other senior personnel in F1 regarding the activities of the duo and the information that both may be able to share due to their relationship.

It is suggested that Toto Wolff is privy to confidential information about Formula One Management (FOM) activities, unavailable to rival team bosses, while Susie Wolff has access to discussions between the team bosses, which could be advantageous to FOM.

A recent report from BusinessF1 magazine claimed that Toto Wolff had made a comment in a meeting with information that could only have come from FOM, which the other bosses were unaware of.

In response, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem has asked the compliance department to launch an investigation. ..."

Why "misogynistic"?
Not sure. Probably because she's Toto's wife and therefore a woman and therefore yielding to the pressures of her male husband or something. I don't know, it's a bit emotional. Still, fairly strong words.

Why "misogynistic"?
Because it implies that Toto wears the pants and she couldn't possibly be independent on a business level I guess.
What I don't get is how she got the job in the first place. If people couldn't see a conflict of interest from the get-go, why bring it up now as if it's new?
