But thats the problem, he has shown that he will not be a nr 2 driver. He will cry on the radio and not move over when his teammate is faster. Did you forget 2022, how many times he screwed Leclerc over?
yeah he wants to be number 1
I hope Sainz goes to Williams. He puts in consistently good performances and between himself and Albon, they'd probably end up in the points nearly every race. That's the Disney story arc I'd like to see.
Camera guys bailed out and missed the shot of their career
You want boring?
I mistakenly decided to watch the Indy 500 which started hours late due to 'a wet track'.
After an hour of typically American build up with marching soldiers, national anthem, introducing all the drivers, and their wives, and their children, we finally got to race.
As with Monaco, red flag on lap one. This gives DSTV an opportunity to run their 'promos'. I do believe in a single hour we saw more promos than racing. I think I fell asleep after about 80 laps when they were on safety car no 12, or 20. More promos - the same promos, more cars going round and round in a circle.
If the DSTV ads weren't enough, the American commentators had their own ads to read, again and again.
Can you imagine F1 having full-screen adverts and promos every time there's a yellow flag, or every time there's not a yellow flag...
Either Americans have a very high boredom threshold, or a very low entertainment expectation.
Never again
Now that was a sprint raceEh. 649 passes, 49 lead changes and a record 18 different leaders.
And the finish:
The final pass, on the outside, at 350 kmh.
Also, there is probably a technical explanation to Sainz's reinstatement to P3 after the 1st lap incident, but come one!
Agreed. I'd would say Audi is his best long(er) term deal. If RB hold onto Perez, it'll be because they can't sign their preferred replacement. I hope Perez' current form continues to 2026. Williams should reach out to Latifi to fill their vacant seat; his family money is less controversial than Sargeant's. I think. If I was in his position, I would take the Audi deal. He needs to realize his chances of WC is over for now. Merc won't be contending in '25 and it looks like Toto is holding on that Max jumps ship for 26 and/or Antonelli.
Ferrari is booked.
Mclaren is booked.
Aston is booked.
RB might open up in '26 if Max decides to jump, so there is that option but all signs are pointing that Ferrari, Merc and Mclaren will be top dogs again come 26 with the unknown for RB's engines.
Williams could be a viable option purely based on the Merc engine deal, but yah.. nowhere to go really to be in the top 6 again next year unless he drives for Merc or RB on a 1 year deal.
I must admit, I don't understand what team bosses think their guys should do if you happen to get a better launch out of the corner than your teammate who's ahead. Gasly could just as well have backed off a bit and all would have been well.
Absolutely. It's a strategy game more than anything, but certainly still exciting and ultimately very unpredictable unlike the current F1.Eh. 649 passes, 49 lead changes and a record 18 different leaders.
And the finish:

Antonelli will be in the Merc IMO.Antonelli hasn't even managed a podium this year in F2. He definitely won't have a seat in F1 next year. Audi looks to be Sainz's best outlook for now.
I think the best move reagrding Carlos AND Merc would be for Carlos to take a 1 year contract wiht Merc while Merc get Kimi ready for F1 by giving him a second year in F2.
then Carlos can go to audi in 2026 and Kimi can join F1 in 2026 (most likely in a williams not straight into a Merc)
I also heard that Bottas was having coffee with James Vowels over at Williams.
