the way this points system is set up, it rewards consistency..
if the season is close at the end of the year and it reflects a lot of teams and drivers performing consistently.
anyone else getting the vibes of the VET era of RB dominance again now? dominant year followed by a tight year where multiple drivers have potential to catch up and win it?
instead of focusing on Lando beating max how about we look at how many drivers could still win it, even if Max scored no points for the rest of the year.
like can GR still mathematically win it if Ferrari, Mclaren and RB fail to score any points for the rest of the year however unlikely that is.
that really is a lot. that means its still possible for anyone from 8th up to still be champion. that is perez, who is tied at 143 with George Russel. There are still 199 points available if a driver wins every race and every sprint race coming up.
This tells me that we are going into a hell of an Abu Dhabi GP in 2024that really is a lot. that means its still possible for anyone from 8th up to still be champion. that is perez, who is tied at 143 with George Russel.
but for that to happen that person needs to score the max points and Max needs to score no more than 29 points.
Oscar, Lando, and Charles re the most likely to still be able to do it.
For lando its 9 points more than Max per race will do it
For Charles he will need to score 12 points more than Max per race
Oscar can also do it with 12 points more than Max per race.
Carlos needs to score 19 ponmts per race more than Max
Lewis needs to score 21 points per race more than Max
George and Checo need to score 25 points more than max.,
logically only Oscar, Lando and Charles stands a chance but its a slim chance.
Every time Max finishes 4th or lower everyone ahead of him stands a chance to catch him.
any time Max finishes on the podium the chance drops down.
and a single race where Max does not score any points could completely destroy those chances.
while I want to back Lando, Oscar and Charles stand as much of a chance as Lando does.

Hmm... Starts looking at tickets for ADThis tells me that we are going into a hell of an Abu Dhabi GP in 2024
Carlos misunderstood the team instruction and took out the wrong RB. Maybe he felt intimidated...the moment MAx scores a single DNF the equation changes completely.
He's probably not used to seeing Checo near the frontCarlos misunderstood the team instruction and took out the wrong RB. Maybe he felt intimidated...
piastri deserves it but yeah this wing brings a whole new dimension of thingsMy prediction. Abu Dhabi 2.0
Norris or Piastri take the championship at Abu Dhabi. Red Bull lodge a complaint against flexi wing and Mclaren get disqualified from drivers and Constructors championship.
But I see this Flexi wing is trending everywhere the last 24h. Even most F1 websites. So maybe it will get banned before that.
Well the cheating is just getting out of hand. For weeks/months there has been complaints and speculation on how much their front wing flex and compress during high speed. Nothing was done and now the rear wing does it too.im seeing alot of chatter around the mclaren wing
whats your guys thoughts
Well nothing against Piastri, he just drives what is given to him. But lets be fair, when drivers sit in a DRS train nobody pass because the one in front of you have DRS too. We have seen this race that straight was long enough that cars passed other relatively easily with DRS.piastri deserves it but yeah this wing brings a whole new dimension of things
will explain the pace
If it passed the FIA tests (which it did) then its legal. However, it is a clever bit of tech.im seeing alot of chatter around the mclaren wing

But Leclerc could not pass with DRS with Piastri not having DRS. So that wing basically gave him DRS without it being activated.

Err... the 94 Benetton also passed the FIA tests, yet many years later the technical director explained how they actually had TC at the time, so...If it passed the FIA tests (which it did) then its legal. However, it is a clever bit of tech.
