you're missing the point here... didn't mercedes have a steering column that moved around or something under braking, it's legal but the FIA said no remove that. McLaren long ago had 3 pedals, its legal but the FIA said remove that. RB had a fancy wing, it's legal but the FIA said no no remove that.

I think I may be the only one getting the point here.
Emphasis on "The FIA said"
So, what more were you expecting? You expect Mclaren to take the wing off?
If the FIA are cool with it, what more do you expect?

Yea, but that's a different scenario. Those were all legal and within the letter of the law. New regulation was added / amended later to prevent it, but they were not illegal.

Red Bull get small fine for Cost cap overspend - MBB FIA cheat and wipe it under the carpet.
Mclaren have flexi wing and mini DRS - MBB All hail the FIA, if they say its fine then its fine, They know what they doing.

And werent those changes made for the next season too, not during the seasons in question?

Also, wasnt the one wing change a realisation of weaknesses in the testing procedure? The method of testing changed, to cover an unforeseen loophole in the testing methods, not a matter of outlawing the wings themselves?

The Aston wings, those were the ones changed werent they, but that was a matter if laws not not worded to achieve desired intention, the wing design and impacy had been what wanted removed removed spor, but way was worded, had allowed unexpected loophole to circumvent intended impact if rule.

Nah, if there’s technical tests to determine legality then that’s the test it passes. Improve the test and then give notice to comply from future date. That’s not the same as bending the rules at will or spending more than you’re allowed.

Curious how the touching / going over the line at the pit exit missed your list…
